Geneology
|
In Grimsby some time ago, one family called the Coopers were fish merchants and another family called the Crampins owned a large number of fishing boats, these families combined and started this tree. Whilst Grimsby was a prosperous port these two families enjoyed Grimsby's success as key members of the fishing industry. The industry brought over the an Irishman by the name of Dooley who married into the family and whose name has continued to us.
On the other side of the tree the family can be traced back to 1592 following the Crompton lineage. The Cromptons lived in the north west of England and have many notable member in particular Samuel Crompton the inventor of the Spinning Mule, a key invention of the industrial revolution. The Crompton family also links us to the famous Bee Gees, with Valerie's grandfather being the brother to the Bee Gee's grandmother.
